In May 2017, the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund was formed when a group of Philadelphia organizers joined forces to raise $60,000 in one week to free 13 mamas. Since then, we've bailed our over 620 of our neighbors and spent over $4 million in bail. 

 

This year we will be raising money through May 6th to post bail for Black women and gender non-conforming people in time for Mother's Day. We hope to raise $90,000 to bail out as many Black mamas as possible. Black mamas include Black women, femmes, and gender non-conforming mothers and caregivers. Due to COVID-19, we will be expanding this definition to include all Black women, femmes, and gender non-conforming people in this year's bail out.
